Joint Pain Physiotherapy In Coventry

Joint Pain & Osteoarthritis Management

At Godiva Physiotherapy, we specialise in hands on management of knee osteoarthritis, hip joint degeneration, frozen shoulder, and age related wear-and-tear across Coventry. Stiff, aching joints in the morning should not define how you spend your day.

Our clinicians use low impact progressive joint loading, manual joint mobilisation, and personalised long term lifestyle plans to preserve the mobility you have and rebuild what you have lost. Every plan is built around your specific joints, your pain pattern, and your daily goals.

For those with severe flare ups or limited travel ability, we offer a Private Mobile Home Visit Service covering all Coventry postcodes, so expert care reaches you where you need it most.

Conditions Godiva Physiotherapy Can Help With

Why We Rarely Tell You To Stop Exercising

If you have been told your X-ray shows “wear and tear” or “joint degeneration”, it is easy to assume that’s simply how your knee or hip will be from now on, and that you’d better take it easy.

X-rays tells you less than you might think. A great many people over the age of 40, who have never had a day of joint pain, have exactly the same age related changes on their x-rays as yours. Arthritic change does not always mean pain or disability, and stopping exercise is rarely the cure for an arthritic joint.

Why? Because a joint that is not used becomes stiffer and weaker, and it then takes far less to make it hurt. Your confidence in it goes as quickly, as does the strength. So you protect it, you put more stress through the other joints, and in time those start to hurt too. A domino effect is underway.

That is why we don’t assume anything. We ask questions – lots of them. How did it begin, what aggravates it, what makes it feel better, and what would you like to get back to doing? Then we examine you properly, looking not only at the painful joint but at the joints and muscles above, below and around it.

Very often, that is where the real cause is hiding.

Godiva Physiotherapy offers specialist assessment and treatment for joint pain and osteoarthritis across Coventry. We work with clients managing hip, knee, shoulder, and hand osteoarthritis, as well as general joint stiffness and inflammation that affects daily life. Every treatment plan is built around you, your lifestyle, and what you want to get back to doing.

We begin with a thorough assessment to understand how your joints are affected and what activities are causing you difficulty. Treatment combines hands-on therapy, targeted strengthening exercises, and movement retraining to reduce pain and improve function. We also focus on long-term self-management, so you leave with the tools to keep your joints moving well, not just short-term relief.

Yes. Osteoarthritis and persistent joint pain respond well to consistent, structured physiotherapy. Our therapists focus on reducing pain, restoring movement, and helping you manage your condition from day to day. Treatment adapts as your needs change, so you are never stuck following a programme that no longer fits where you are.

Book an initial assessment at our Coventry clinic and we will work through that with you. Our therapists take a full history, assess your joint movement and strength, and explain your options in plain terms. From there, we agree a plan together. There is no pressure and no assumption that a single approach suits every person or every joint.
